Have you seen this Demographic Winter video? I saw it over on Kingfisher Column, the decline of the family has huge economic impact. This thing is chilling.

The ENTIRE COUNTRY OF FRANCE PROHIBITS SAME SEX MARRIAGE!!

Why? They based their decision on scientific research that states it isn’t beneficial to France’s children. Get the FACTS before you vote. Please. For America’s children.

Thanks for the blog. Your comments are very thoughtful and much needed!!

I feel sorry for same-sex couples because same-sex mar-riage proponents have been duped...they think they are fighting for equality or love but that is not true and here's why...

It seems that prop. 8 isn't really about love.

Prop. 8 is about freedom for ALL Americans.
Some of the biggest pushers on prop. 8 do not care about same-sex relationships, they care about their agenda to hijack our freedoms, including those of same-sex couples.

If prop. 8 fails it will hurt the freedoms of you, me, AND same-sex couples.

Yes! Prop. 8 is a vote for freedom. There is a better way we can all live together in peace rather than demand freedoms be surrendered.

Check it out for yourself instead of opinions we need more facts: www.ifprop8fails.com, www.preservingmarriage.com, and www.protectmarriage.com

Mariann,
Don't worry, I got sucked in too. I was thinking that it wouldn't be that great of a book. I do read a lot of LDS literature, since I can't find a lot of fantasy novels that don't include naughty subjects, I have to find what I do read in Young Adult and LDS bookstores. But even with that, I wanted to ignore this horrible book. I mean, it isn't just teenage, but it seemed to be a romance (grimace) novel. Ugh. And yet, I finally gave in and read it. Now of course, I am on the waiting list at my library for getting the rest of the books! How annoying.
Anyway, if you liked it and want to try some other good books (not vampires and not romance but definitely teen or younger) the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull is GREAT. I've also really enjoyed the Gregor series (but I don't know the author). Keep smiling.

A Mormon converted only 4 years ago, I too believe in a kind of Karma. Doing good unto others will reep good things unto oneself. Also Choosing the right will lead to good rewards, when choosing to do wrong will lead to negative consequences. Sometimes this takes a while but too often it is more what I call instant Karma, the result happens quite soon after the effect takes place. Like putting your hand into a fire, you get burned preaty fast = Instant Karma. Doing a good turn, that sets a path for the day that may save you from some unknown harm = instant Karma.

The bennifet or consequance is reeped directly from the action in a reletive short responce time is instant Karma. If you must wait for the reward or consequence, however, I guess falls within your normal Karma stuff.

As a Religous Philosophy, I don't see anything wrong in Christianity with the idea of Karma, even the Idea that what you do in this life reeps a reward or consequence in the next life. Is not that part of the message of Christ, to do good now that you have been set free from your sin, to ready yourself for your eternal reward?

Have a good day and keep up the "Good" work.
God Bless,
-D
